Thomson Reuters' legal unit surges

Noted: "The legal business, which provides databases to law firms, saw its operating profit increase 3 per cent to $241-million (U.S.) amid the economic downturn. That helped cushion the markets division, the company's other major business, which supplies high-end financial data to banks and stockbrokers. Operating profit at the markets division was flat, at $337-million."
